Apple has just concluded its ‘Scary Fast’ event wherein it showcased its M3 series chips and the M3-powered 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro and 24-inch iMac.
The M3 series chips are built on the 3nm process and introduce hardware-accelerated ray tracing and mesh shading, to name some of its highlights. These now power the latest 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro.
14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro
All variants of the new MacBook Pro feature a Liquid Retina XDR Display with 20% brighter SDR content and up to 1600 nits of brightness. The laptops also offer a built-in 1080p camera and a six-speaker sound system. Additionally, they run on macOS Sonoma which introduces widgets, Game Mode, and more improvements.
The 14-inch MacBook Pro is offered starting with the M3 chip and goes as high as the M3 Max. The M3-powered option is ideal for students aspiring musicians and video editors. It is up to 60% faster than the 13-inch MacBook Pro with M1. Additionally, the M3 chip variant has an advanced thermal system.
Meanwhile, the M3 Pro-powered 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro are built with coders, creatives, and researchers in mind. The M3 Pro variant offers more unified memory and is said to be 40% faster than the 16-inch model with M1 Pro.
Lastly, the 14-inch and 16-inch models powered by the M3 Max provide performance and capabilities for those with extreme workflows like machine learning programmers, 3D artists, and video editors. It offers up to 2.5x faster than the 16-inch variants with M1 Max and up to 11x better performance than the fastest Intel-based Pro model. Additionally, the M3 Max supports up to 128GB of unified memory.
If you’re interested in the M3 Pro and M3 Max variants, they come in a new color – Space Black in addition to the Silver colorway. Space Black uses an anodization seal to greatly reduce fingerprints. The 14-inch M3 variant comes in Silver and Space Gray.

- M3 Max (14-core CPU, 30-core GPU, 36GB RAM, and 1TB SSD) – starts at PHP 201,990
Meanwhile, the 16-inch MacBook Pro is offered in the Philippines for:
