Sony Interactive Entertainment has just unveiled the new PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Digital Edition with a smaller form factor just in time for the holiday season.

The new version of the PlayStation 5 and 5 Digital Edition is said to have more than 30% less volume and 18% and 24% less weight compared to the previous models.
The latest versions also have four separate cover panels with a glossy finish on the top portion and a matte look on the bottom.
If you opt for the Digital Edition, you can also get an Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive for PS5 later which will be sold for USD 79.99 (around PHP 4,500)/EUR 119.99 (around PHP 7,200)/GBP 99.99 (around PHP 7,000)/JPY 11,980 (around PHP 4,600).

A horizontal stand will be with the new PS5 model but a new vertical stand compatible with all PS5 models will be sold seperately at USD 29.99 (around PHP 1,700)/EUR 29.99 (around PHP 1,800)/GBP 24.99 (around PHP 1,700)/JPY 3,980 (around PHP 1,500).
The company also clarified that the new version will be the only model available after after the inventory of the current PS5 has sold out.
