Spotify has recently introduced Spotify Jam, a personalized, real-time listening session for your group for Premium subscribers.
Spotify Jam
Premium users can start a Jam and anyone on Spotify can join – free or premium users alike. It will help you find the perfect songs to add to the queue and find the overlaps in your listening preferences so it can deliver music recommendations for everyone.
If you’ve started the Jam, you will be able to see who’s added a track so you know whom to thank for that crowd-pleaser.
You can “Start a Jam” by clicking the speaker icon at the bottom of your screen or through the three-dot menu. In addition to sharing what you’re listening to, you have the select a device to play on.
You can invite your friends and family in three ways:
- Turn on Bluetooth, then tap your phones together
- Have your friends scan the QR code on your host screen
- Hit “share” and send the link through social, text, SMS, or more
Anyone who’s joined the Jam can add songs to the queue, see what song will be played next, and receive recommendations. However, only the host will have the ability to decide who’s in the Jam, change the order of the tracks, or remove a song.
Spotify Jam is now available for Premium subscribers, make sure you update your Spotify app.
