In today’s world, where young adults face a multitude of career choices, a parent’s unwavering support is more valuable than ever. PLDT, a company that has always championed open and loving communication, is rekindling its iconic “Suportahan Ta Ka” (Support You) tagline in its 95th anniversary campaign.

Two decades ago, a PLDT TV commercial featuring actor and model Christian Vasquez portrayed a young medical student seeking his father’s blessing to switch from medicine to fine arts. The father’s response, “Kung saan ka masaya ti, suportahan ta ka” (Whatever makes you happy, I’ll support you!), resonated deeply with viewers and became an enduring expression of parental support.

Now, 22 years later, Christian Vasquez returns with a heartwarming sequel to the iconic ad, this time as a father facing a similar situation with his own son, Jason. The video captures Jason’s dilemma as he grapples with the decision of pursuing his passion for IT or following his father’s footsteps in engineering.

Despite his initial hesitation, Christian, recalling the lesson he learned from his own story, ultimately embraces his son’s decision, reaffirming his unwavering support with the words, “Palangga ta ka” (I love you).

PLDT’s 95th Anniversary Campaign

PLDT’s 95th anniversary campaign beautifully illustrates the transformative power of love and understanding in bridging generations and fostering meaningful connections. Just as PLDT has connected the Philippines for decades, it now reminds us that the most enduring connections are built on love, respect, and the unwavering support we offer our loved ones as they navigate their life’s journey.
