Microsoft kicks off the new year by bringing its AI companion, Microsoft Copilot to more people and businesses with the introduction of Copilot Pro, a new app for iOS and Android devices, and more.
Based on feedback, the company was able to discern how to improve Microsoft Copilot. It detailed in its latest blog that two kinds of users need to be targeted.
First are power users like creators, researchers, programmers, and others who want faster access to the latest features. Second, are Microsoft 365 customers who use the AI companion for personal use.
Copilot Pro
For creators and power users, the company introduced Copilot Pro, a new subscription that delivers the most advanced features and capabilities of Microsoft Copilot. This will offer advanced help with writing, coding, designing, researching, and learning and is designed to bring more performance, productivity, and creativity.
What can you do with Copilot Pro?
- single AI experience that runs across your devices. It understands your context on the web, on your PC, across your apps, and soon on your phone
- access to Microsoft Copilot in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote on PC, Mac, and iPad for Microsoft 365 Personal and Family subscribers
- priority access to the latest models starting with OpenAI GPT-4 Turbo and toggle between models
- enhanced AI image creation with Image Creator from Designer that ensures 100 boosts per day while bringing more detailed image quality and landscape image format
- the ability to build your own Copilot GPT – a customized experience tailored for a specific topic
The Pro version is offered to USD 20 (around PHP 1,100) per month/per user.
Expanding Copilot for Microsoft 365
While the Copilot Pro variant is best for individuals, Copilot for Microsoft 365 is best for organizations. It became generally available for enterprises in November. Now, the service is now available for organizations of all sizes.
What are the additions to Copilot for Microsoft 365?
- generally available for small businesses with Microsoft 365 Business Premium and Business Standard Customers being able to purchase between one and 299 seats for USD 30 (around PHP 1,700) per person per month
- removed the 300-seat purchase minimum for commercial plans and made it available for Office 365 E3 and E5 customers
- commercial customers can now purchase Copilot for Microsoft 365 through the Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider partners
- the eligibility of the service for education faculty and staff
The Copilot for Microsoft 365 works across the entire universe of data at work including emails, meetings, chats, documents, the web, and more. It can be integrated into apps like Microsoft Teams. Moreover, it can jump-start your creativity in Word, analyze data in Excel, design presentations in PowerPoint, triage the Outlook inbox, summarize in Teams, and more.
Offering Microsoft Copilot to More People
In addition to these, Microsoft Copilot availability will be expanded to even more people for a better free experience. Here are additional updates:
- Copilot GPTs – lets you customize the behavior of Copilot on a topic that is of particular interest to you. This includes specific purposes like fitness, travel, cooking, and more.
- Copilot mobile app – Microsoft has also introduced the mobile app for Android and iOS users. It gives you the power of the AI companion on the go as it can answer queries and your chats across your phone and PC. It also has the same capabilities as its PC counterpart with access to GPT-4 and Dall-E 3 for image creation. You can download the app from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store
- Copilot in the Microsoft 365 mobile app – Microsoft Copilot will also added to the Microsoft 365 mobile app for Android and iOS for individuals with a Microsoft account over the next month. You can download Microsoft 365 via the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
