Qualcomm has unveiled the Snapdragon XR2 Plus Gen 2 chipset for extended reality headsets, including AR, MR, and VR devices, supporting 4.3K resolution and up to 90 frames per second.

The XR2 Plus Gen 2 features a 15% higher GPU and 20% higher CPU max frequency, enabling dynamic rendering, space warp, and 4K graphics. It supports 12 concurrent cameras, supports 12ms full-color video see-through, and works on all wireless protocols.
In addition, the XR2 Plus Gen 2 enhances visuals with up to 4.3k x 4.3k display resolution, allowing immersive entertainment, life-size overlays, and room-scale desktop experiences.
It also features XR experiences with ultra-fast Wi-Fi 7 and Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and 5.2 wireless connectivity, achieving 60% higher throughput and 50% lower latency.
This new chipset is said to push new devices that will compete with the Apple Vision Pro. However, the manufacturer has shared no official release date as of writing this article.
