Sony, in partnership with Siemens, has just revealed its upcoming Mixed Reality (MR) headset focused on supporting “Spatial Content Creators”.

This new MR headset features two 1.3-type OLED microdisplays with 4K resolution and 96% DCI-P3 coverage, powered by the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2. It supports split rendering for stable frame rates and can realistically render 3D textures and facial expressions in real-time.
In addition, Siemens’ NX Immersive Designer Software integrates with a headset featuring two controllers, one ring-like for 3D object manipulation and the other accurate pointer for virtual object creation.
Sony and Siemens are set to release a new XR headset, designed for extended use and comfort, with pricing and availability to be announced later this year.
