TECNO recently announced they’ve teamed up with Dolby Laboratories to bring the Dolby Atmos spatial sound experience to TECNO devices globally.

For anyone who enjoys watching movies, playing games, or listening to music on their phone, this is big news. Dolby Atmos is a next-gen sound technology that makes entertainment incredibly immersive, surrounding you with detail and depth you’ve never heard before on a phone.

POVA 6 Pro 5G may be the first Tecno phone to sport Dolby

According to the companies’ recent announcement, Dolby Atmos sound will debut on TECNO’s upcoming POVA 6 Series phones, which launch later in February. The first model packing Dolby’s premium soundscape will be the POVA 6 Pro 5G, which TECNO plans to unveil at Mobile World Congress 2024 in Barcelona.

Judging by an exciting promo image and description TECNO released, the POVA 6 Pro 5G looks to be targeted at young mobile gamers who will appreciate being transported right into the action by Dolby’s moving, multidimensional audio.

Beyond the POVA 6 Series, TECNO says future CAMON and PHANTOM phones will also come equipped with Dolby Atmos tech. So if you’re already eyeing one of TECNO’s premium phone lines, improved sound could soon be coming your way.

What does Dolby Atmos deliver exactly?

On phones, it gives music, movies, games and other audio a more natural, authentic sound with added clarity for vocals. You also get a wider, more immersive sound stage with audio that flows and moves around you, even over basic smartphone speakers or earbuds.

According to Dolby, their sound solution improves the audio quality for all entertainment content — not just videos mastered specifically for Atmos. So in theory, everything should sound better on a TECNO phone with Atmos capabilities.

It’s easy to see why TECNO wanted to partner with the audio legends at Dolby. Great sound can make a world of difference when enjoying videos, playing mobile games, or jamming to your playlists on the go. And many smartphone brands still fail to deliver a truly premium listening experience even on expensive flagship devices.

But by teaming with Dolby to offer next-level sound across several phone lines, TECNO stands out by catering to entertainment-loving customers looking for more immersion from their device without compromising performance in key areas like photography and slick design.

The Philippines will likely be the first country where people can get their hands on the Atmos-equipped POVA 6 Series after its official unveiling at MWC Barcelona later next month.

So local fans of TECNO’s modern and innovative brand image — especially gamers and music lovers — should be among the first global consumers to experience Dolby’s game-changing sound on smartphones priced way below traditional flagships.

It’s an exciting partnership between TECNO and Dolby that should allow the ambitious brand to attract even more customers seeking a customizable premium device that keeps up with their digital lifestyle at a fair price. And movie buffs, concert streamers and mobile gamers everywhere should welcome TECNO’s push to popularize next-level Dolby sound in an affordable smartphone package.
