According to MacRumors, Apple has sold an estimated 200,000 Vision Pro headsets. This includes numbers of the pre-order period in the US which started on January 19, 2024.
Apple Vision Pro Sales
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the company sold around 160,000 to 180,000 units of its new so-called spatial computer during the pre-order weekend which could hint at a slowdown of sales since then.
Kuo reports that the relatively low interest in the Vision Pro could be because of the niche market for the device. But more importantly, its pretty hefty USD 3,500 price tag could also play a big role as it could be seen as an enthusiast device.
Although, there are rumors that the company is prepared for a lower number in sales for its first-generation AR/MR headset.
It’s also worth mentioning that the device will ship starting February 2 and we expect to see even more reviews. The increase in more hands-on experience feedback may help drive sales more.
It is believed that the company will produce around 500,000 units of the headset, but it is uncertain if we’ll ever see the company actually consume its stock.
