We’ve came across posts of the GCash app missing from the Google Play Store, so we checked, and yes, it definitely is missing. I remember installing it this afternoon in one of our review units, so it probably went missing just this evening.

Why an App is Removed/Suspended from the Google Play Store

According to Google, there are a couple of reasons why an app is removed from the Play Store.

  1. The developer may have removed the app temporarily (our guess is to possibly to replace it with a better one or say major updates).
  2. The app has violated the Google Play Developer Programme Policies and Developer Distribution Agreement, and has been removed or suspended.

Don’t worry though, as you can still use the app if you already have it installed on your phone. The GCash app is also still present in other platforms like the App Store and the AppGallery at the time of writing.

In a reply to one of the comments, GCash stated that it is working with Google on some enhancements to make the app available in the Play Store.
