Huawei is coming in hot in 2024 by unveiling two new gadgets catering to different needs – the Huawei MatePad 11.5-inch PaperMatte Edition tablet and the nova Y72 smartphone.
HUAWEI MatePad 11.5″ PaperMatte Edition
The HUAWEI MatePad 11.5″ PaperMatte Edition sports an innovative display with a 2200 x 1440 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and the ability to significantly reduce reflections and glare by up to 97% through nano-level processes. This results in a paper-like viewing experience whether you’re reading, writing, or drawing using the bundled HUAWEI M-Pencil 2nd Generation that boasts 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity.
It’s the first to achieve certifications for low visual fatigue from SGS and reflection-free from TUV Rheinland – cementing its position as an industry leader when it comes to eye care and comfort.
The HUAWEI MatePad 11.5″ PaperMatte Edition is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor along with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It houses a 7,700mAh battery with 20W charging. There are also quad speakers for multimedia consumption, a 13MP main camera, and an 8MP front snapper.
But what sets it apart from is the PC-level WPS Office 2.0 app, exclusive to the MatePad PaperMatte Edition. This gives users access to cloud collaboration, along with features such as being able to print without using a separate app, keyboard/mouse support, PDF editing, use of formulas in spreadsheets, and more.
HUAWEI nova Y72
The Huawei nova Y72 mid-ranger, on the other hand, has a different approach of extended longevity and efficient operation. It’s headlined by a large 6,000mAh cell with 22.5W HUAWEI SuperCharge. There’s also the convenient new X Button for customizing shortcuts and quick access to commonly used apps.
Despite its affordable pricing, the nova Y72 still brings modern staples like a 6.75″ HD+ screen, a generous 256GB storage capacity, a 50MP + 2MP dual rear camera system with Super Night Mode and AI Snapshot, an 8MP front camera, and EMUI 12.

Both the Huawei MatePad 11.5-inch PaperMatte Edition and nova Y72 will be up for grabs in the Philippines starting February 23, 2024.
