TECNO Mobile at MWC 2024
Tech brand TECNO Mobile put on an impressive showcase on the opening day of the 2024 Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, highlighting innovative devices and concepts that provide a glimpse into the future.
The company that made waves last year with the launch of its first foldable smartphone, the PHANTOM V Fold, unveiled even more trailblazing products this time. This included Dynamic 1, TECNO’s pioneering robotic dog and the game-changing Pocket Go, an augmented reality glasses and gaming handheld set.
Dynamic 1 and Pocket Go
Clad in lifelike furless German Shepherd designs, the Dynamic 1 responds to voice commands and navigates precisely using Intel’s depth sensing camera and an array of sensors. Footage showed the robotic canine fluidly walking, running up stairs at a top speed of 3.7m/s and performing friendly gestures.
However, it was the unveiling of Pocket Go that well and truly stole the show. TECNO calls it an industry-first, merging AR glasses called Pocket Vision with an ultracompact Windows handheld gaming device. Early demo footage indicates it could revolutionize portable gaming by providing unmatched immersion.
The Pocket Vision AR headset beams visuals with the impact of a 215-inch display just 6 meters away, just like looking at a real screen. The AR glasses revolutionize gaming with a compact, light build. Although it still needs to run complex games smoothly, the set could fix issues with bulky hardware and sub-par viewing affecting existing mobile solutions.
Reach for the Future
In a special exhibit called ‘Reach for the Future’, attendees witnessed these alongside other trailblazing concepts TECNO hopes will empower the users of tomorrow. This included PHANTOM Ultimate, an avantgarde rollable phone with a never-before double-sided display for improved viewing.
There was also a preview of TECNO’s stereo optical grating glass material that enables a mindblowing glasses-free 3D experience. Fragrance leather is another innovation that incorporates microcapsules in vegan leather for year-long aroma.
Of course, TECNO’s more established device ranges also gleamed under the lights. The camera-centric CAMON lineup and SPARK series for young gamers let visitors preview coming flagships. Fans swarmed to try out the newly launched POVA 6 Pro with its mammoth battery and 120Hz display.
Day was is a blast!
Day one drew in tech enthusiasts hungry for a look at concepts pushing the realms of possibility. If the exhibitor’s showcase is indicative of things to come, TECNO is gearing up to unleash devices that defy convention.
The company is slated to host a special product launch event tomorrow, February 27. Already, there is talk that this could see the debut of TECNO’s much-hyped PolarAce mobile imaging technology, said to represent the new pinnacle for phone cameras.
One thing is for certain – TECNO is positioning itself firmly as an innovator ready to pull the technological future closer for its users worldwide. Be sure to stay tuned for more news and updates as we cover the entirety of MWC 2024 here in Barcelona, Spain.
