The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) has developed a content creation course and is now offering it in its current vocational course offerings.
TESDA Content Creation Course
According to TESDA, the course is to tap into lucrative online livelihood opportunities and may be used as a basis by institutions to prepare suitable training programs.
“Virtual networks and communities have enabled us to connect with our audience, build brand awareness, and strengthen engagement. However, the effectiveness of our efforts relies heavily on the quality and relevance of the content we share. In light of this, our content creators must be well-equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to produce compelling and engaging content.”
Suharto T. Mangudadatu, TESDA Secretary
The secretary also urged vocational training centers to offer the courses using the competency standards developed in coordination with the Kapisanan ng Social Media Broadcasters ng Pilipinas, Inc.
The course aims to teach the skills needed to produce content on social media to inform or entertain an audience. This includes coming up with ideas for social media posts and translating the concepts into multimedia content.
“Many of our kababayans are very talented and resourceful, and I am confident that if given the right skills, they will be better positioned to create content that resonate better with their audience, foster meaningful connections, and ultimately contribute significantly to society,” the secretary added.
Some of the listed streaming platforms in the course include YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram. The course also includes editing photos, audio, and video as well as working with equipment like a camera, chroma screen, microphone, and more.
