With the confirmation by no less than HONOR’s CEO Zhao Ming of plans to unveil its first flip-style foldable smartphone in 2024, it’s not surprising that information about the device would’ve already surfaced by now. Speaking of which, a leak from a Chinese tipster has given a glimpse of the alleged device’s design.
HONOR Magic Flip
According to the leaker, the HONOR Magic Flip has been in development for over two years already and is set for an official launch by the end of the second quarter of this year. If true, this will mark HONOR’s entry into the compact foldable phone market, which brands like Samsung, Motorola, OPPO, and TECNO have already ventured into.
The leaked image, which could either be an official render or even just a representation of the actual device, shows a massive cover display and a vertically arranged dual-camera system. On the other hand, the lower half looks like it’s covered in plain leather, of course, with the HONOR branding.
According to reports, Honor aims to make the Magic Flip the thinnest and lightest foldable in the industry, providing users with a true candy bar experience, and that the device will be equipped with a 4,500mAh dual-cell battery.
Aside from the HONOR Magic Flip, HONOR is reportedly unveiling two additional foldable display phones this year: the successors to the HONOR Magic V2 and the V Purse.
