Samsung Brings AI Features to More Devices via One UI 6.1 Update

Samsung has announced that it is expanding the availability of its Galaxy AI platform to more devices through a new One UI 6.1 software update. The update, which will begin rolling out globally from end of March, will bring a host of AI-powered features to the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series.

Breaking Communication Barriers

Chat Assist lets users adjust message tones and translate messages into 13 languages. Live Translate offers real-time voice and text translations during phone calls in multiple languages. With Interpreter, users can have spontaneous translated conversations when travelling abroad using the split screen interface.

Boosting and Unleashing Productivity

Circle to Search generates intuitive search results just by circling an object on screen, while Note Assist helps format, generate summaries and translate notes automatically. There’s also Browsing Assist, which provides comprehensive article summaries, and Transcript Assist that transcribes recordings of meetings and generates summaries plus translations.

Generative Edit lets people easily resize, reposition or realign objects within photos, while Edit Suggestion provides recommendations to quickly polish shots. Instant Slow-mo uses AI to generate additional frames for dramatic slow-motion videos. Further personalization can be done through AI generated wallpapers.

One UI 6.1: More Accessible and Intelligent Mobile Experiences

By expanding the availability of Galaxy AI to even more devices including its 2022 foldables and tablets, Samsung aims to accelerate the democratization of AI globally. Intelligent and personalized features will become accessible to more people – allowing them to communicate better, be more productive, and fully unlock their creative potential through the power of AI.

The One UI 6.1 update with these new AI powers is slated for over 100 Galaxy phones and tablets launched since 2021. Further democratizing helpful AI tech so more people can harness its possibilities.
