Available in two vibrant colors, Twilight Purple and Woodland Green, the device caters to diverse aesthetic preferences.
Despite its slim 7.69mm profile, the Realme 12 5G feels comfortable to grip, thanks to its lightweight build and rounded edges. The metallic frame further enhances the phone’s premium look and feel.
Display
The realme 12 5G features a 6.72-inch FHD+ (2400 x 1080) IPS LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 180Hz touch sampling rate. This combination ensures smooth scrolling and responsive touch input, enhancing the overall user experience. With a peak brightness of 950 nits, the display remains visible even in direct sunlight, making it ideal for outdoor use.
For what it’s worth, it is worth nothing that the display specs of the new Realme 12 is a huge step up from its predecessor, which only has 90Hz refresh rate.
Hardware
Powering the realme 12 5G is the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ 5G processor, a chipset that promises smooth performance and efficient power management. The device is available in two RAM configurations, 6GB and 8GB, both utilizing LPDDR4X technology for faster data transfer speeds. Storage options range from 128GB to a generous 512GB, ensuring ample space for your apps, games, and media files.
Performance
While we haven’t had the opportunity to thoroughly test the realme 12 5G’s performance yet, we’ll be sure to provide an in-depth analysis in our full review next week. My expectation is that its overall performance should be better than last year’s Helio G99.

Camera
The realme 12 5G boasts an impressive camera setup, featuring a 108MP main camera and a 2MP depth sensor on the rear. The primary camera promises to capture stunning details and vibrant colors, while the depth sensor aids in achieving beautiful bokeh effects for portrait shots.
On the front, an 8MP selfie camera ensures you can take great self-portraits and participate in video calls with clarity.

Sound
While we haven’t had the chance to thoroughly test the audio capabilities of the realme 12 5G, the device is expected to deliver a decent audio experience. realme has a reputation for incorporating quality audio components into their devices, so we can anticipate a satisfactory sound output from the built-in speakers and the 3.5mm headphone jack.
