There has been more and more news recently on the Xiaomi MIX Flip. The latest rumors include the speculated design of its camera module which includes an interesting change.
Xiaomi MIX Flip
A report from GSMChina claims that the MIX Flip is now being tested internally. The device is said to be codenamed Ruyi and be powered by the SM8650 chipset better known as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
The report also includes an expected render of the device which includes a rectangular cover display and a long rectangular camera island with two punch holes. The latter feature is for the expected dual rear camera.
This is corroborated by Android Headlines’ sharing a photo of the code of the camera module of Xiaomi MIX Flip. According to this, it will feature a Hunter OVX8000 (based on the OmniVision OVE50E) 50MP main camera accompanied by an OV60a40 60MP telephoto lens. Yes, a telephoto lens rather than the more ‘usual’ ultrawide sensor.
The photo also mentions an OV32b40 sensor for the front sensor.
GSMChina expects the new clamshell foldable device to debut in May and will be introduced in China and the global market. That said though, Xiaomi has yet to reveal anything, as of writing this.
