At the MediaTek Dimensity Developer Conference 2024 (MDDC 2024), the company introduced the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ as a successor to its Dimensity 9300 SoC.

The Dimensity 9300+ is built on the TSMC third-generation 4nm process and comes with AI capabilities.

The new Plus chipset brings LoRA (Low-Rank Adaptation) and NeuroPilot LORA Fusion 2.0 for text, imaging, and more AI features. Moreover, it has on-device NeuroPilot Speculative Decode Acceleration that allows it to support LLMs (Large Language Models) like Google Gemini Nano, Meta Llama 2 and 3, Alibaba Cloud Qwen, and Baichuan AI, to name a few.

The Dimensity 9300+ also has an improved APU (AI Processing Unit) 790 engine which is said to offer up to a 10% boost in performance to its non-plus sibling.

The Plus variant carries over the all-big core design with:

  • 1 x Cortex-X4 prime core running at up to 3.4GHz
  • 3 x Cortex-X4 performance cores at up to 2.85GHz
  • 4 x Cortex-A720-based efficiency cores at up to 2.0GHz

The latest flagship chipset supports up to LPDDR5T RAM and up to 4.0 storage.

A: It is equipped with the 12-core ARM Immortalis G720 MC12GPU with a second-generation hardware raytracing engine and adaptive gaming technology.

A: The new chipset has an Imagiq 990 ISP. It offers 18-bit RAW processing and offers an AI Semantic Analysis Video Engine. Among the features of the latter include a 16-scene segmentation with enhanced colors, increased brightness, reduced noise, and more.
