Microsoft has just unveiled its latest category of Windows PCs designed with AI dubbed the Microsoft Copilot+ PCs. This includes devices from Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Samsung, and even Microsoft’s own Surface series.

The company mentioned that the new category will start with Arm chips but the AI features will eventually be offered on Intel and AMD chips.
Among these AI features include Recall which can access virtually what you have seen or done on your PC to offer photographic memory. These will then organize information as we do – based on relationships and associations.
These snapshots stay locally on your PC and you can delete individual snapshots, adjust, and delete ranges of time in Settings, and more.
Moreover, the Microsoft built-in AI assistant Copilot will gain support for the OpenAI GPT-4o model.
The laptops are said to be 58% faster than an M3-powered MacBook Air and last “all day”. However, it isn’t clear if this will be solely for the Arm-based processors.
The company though made it clear that it expects around 50 million units to be sold over the next year under the new Copilot+ PC branding.
In order to be a part of the branding, a laptop will need to have at least:
- 16GB RAM
- 256GB of SSD storage
- integrated NPU
The first Copilot+ PCs will launch on June 18 and will feature Qualcomm processors but Intel and AMD-powered laptops will ship at a later date.
