After many rumors, Nintendo has finally confirmed that the successor which we’ll call the Nintendo Switch 2 will be launched “within this fiscal year”.
Nintendo Switch 2 In the Works
The news was revealed by Nintendo President, Shuntaro Furukawa on X (formerly Twitter). In the tweet, he mentioned that it has been over nine years since the first mention of the Nintendo Switch. The handheld console from Nintendo was officially announced in 2016 though.
Since then, the company has released a more portable and more affordable Switch Lite and the more recent Switch OLED. There have been many speculations that a successor or even a ‘Pro’ version was coming, but this is the first time that the company revealed the successor.
Furukawa mentioned that a Nintendo Direct will be held in June regarding the “software lineup for the latter half of 2024”. However, he clarified that the Switch successor will not be mentioned during the presentation.
We hope the Switch 2 will build on the hardware of the Switch OLED and make it an even more capable handheld console, especially with the advancements in hardware since the first Switch came out.

He would then transition to focus more on the world of tech which has also began his journey into learning more about this world. That said though, he still has the mentality of "as long as it works" for his personal gadgets.
