POCO F6 Pro – Accesible Flagship Performance
The POCO F6 Pro is the latest flagship offering from the Xiaomi sub-brand, promising top-tier performance and an exceptional user experience. With its powerful hardware, sleek design, and feature-rich software, this smartphone aims to cater to the needs of demanding users who seek a seamless and immersive mobile experience.
I have been using this device for 2 weeks now, and having known its price and performance, I can now give my definitive verdict.
Design
The POCO F6 Pro boasts a premium and modern design that exudes elegance and sophistication. Made with high-quality materials, including an aluminum frame and a glass back, the device feels solid and durable in the hand.
The rounded edges and curved display provide a comfortable grip, while the matte finish on the back panel offers a stylish and fingerprint-resistant surface. The way they designed the black version has some level of intricacy. It looks like a mix of crumpled paper and marble, and feels like a slab of glass with matte coating.
While I am not a big fan of the gold trimming on its camera design, I believe it caters to more set of consumers, which may not align to my preference.
Hardware
Under the hood, the POCO F6 Pro packs a punch with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, ensuring lightning-fast performance and seamless multitasking capabilities. It is quite an older chipset but competitive enough for its overall performance and price.
Coupled with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage, this smartphone can handle even the most demanding tasks with ease, from intensive gaming to resource-heavy applications. The 1TB storage is a good decision especially for its high-end version especially for those who will be using it for gaming and recording videos. Since the storage is UFS 4.0, it gives further utility for recording 8K videos, which the POCO F6 Pro supports.
Display
The POCO F6 Pro features a stunning 6.67-inch WQHD+ Flow AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 4000 nits. This display delivers vibrant colors, deep blacks, and exceptional clarity, making it an ideal choice for multimedia consumption and gaming.
The high refresh rate ensures smooth scrolling and animations, while the HDR10+ support enhances the overall viewing experience.
Performance

Geekbench is a cross-platform benchmark tool developed by Primate Labs that measures the performance of a computer’s CPU and GPU. It is designed to evaluate the single-core and multi-core performance of processors, as well as the performance of the system’s memory and compute capabilities.
Geekbench 6 uses a variety of workloads to test different aspects of a system’s performance, including image processing, encryption, and machine learning. The results are reported as a single score for the CPU and GPU, which can be used to compare the performance of different systems.

Software
The POCO F6 Pro runs on Xiaomi’s HyperOS out of the box, a custom Android-based operating system that offers a clean and intuitive user interface.
HyperOS is packed with useful features and customization options, allowing users to tailor the experience to their preferences. From gesture controls to theme customization, the software provides a personalized and user-friendly experience.
At the time of the writing this article, POCO has not yet told us the number of major upgrades the POCO F6 series would have. I hope that at the very minimum, the series would have a total of 3 major upgrades. I will update this review once we receive info from Xiaomi.
Camera
The POCO F6 Pro boasts an impressive triple camera setup, featuring a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro lens.
This versatile camera system captures stunning photos with excellent detail, dynamic range, and color accuracy.

Initially, I thought that this phone is somewhat lacking in this department. However, as I use this device, I later realized that its set of cameras is perfect for the price they ask.
