RetroArch, a renowned emulator with an extensive history and ongoing development, has made a remarkable debut on the iOS App Store today.

This news is undoubtedly a cause for celebration among retro gaming enthusiasts with iPhones, as the app offers the ability to emulate an astonishing array of vintage consoles once installed.

This retro gaming app version includes a staggering number of emulation cores. The possibilities are unlimited, from the NEC PC Engine to the Nintendo DS, Game Boy Advance, Virtual Boy, Neo Geo Pocket, and even the PSP (which uses the same core as the PPSSPP program). Curious gamers can view the entire lineup by clicking “more” in RetroArch’s App Store description.

It’s worth noting that this app isn’t an emulator in and of itself, but rather a front-end that lets users incorporate numerous emulator cores. When starting a game, players must load the associated core (although the app will recommend the correct core if the wrong one is selected).

RetroArch also boasts various features, including online gameplay, button or key remapping per emulation core or game, fast-forward and rewind functions, and gyro control.

To enjoy the latest version of RetroArch, users must have iOS / iPadOS 14.2 or own a Vision Pro. While the app is not available on the Mac version of the App Store, there’s no need to fret, as a macOS version (along with versions for other operating systems) can be easily downloaded from the RetroArch website.
