Intel revealed the architecture details for the upcoming Intel Lunar Lake processor at the Computex 2024 keynote. The new processor is redesigned to set a new bar for x86 power efficiency and to deliver core and graphics performance with AI.

These come with new Performance-cores (P-cores) and Efficient-cores (E-cores) to deliver up to 40% lower system-on-chip power than its predecessor.

Moreover, the new NPU 4 neural processing unit (NPU) is up to 4x faster than the previous generation and is said to enable improvements in generative AI.

The new Xe2 GPU cores also improve gaming and graphics performance by 1.5x and deliver more than 60 tera-operations per second (TOPS) over the previous generation.

The new processors will feature a new power delivery integrated controller, enhanced Thread Director, memory-side cache, and improved E-core cluster for 60% better battery life in real-life usage. In addition, they will have integrated Wi-Fi 7 support and built-in ray-tracing.

The Intel Lunar Lake will power more than 80 new AI PC designs from more than 20 partners starting Q3 2024.
