Microsoft has launched the Microsoft Designer app, allowing users to create and edit creatively with AI. The app allows users to express themselves and bring their ideas to life quickly, even if they’re unsure of what they want to see.

Copilot is now available in Microsoft 365 apps for creating images and designs in Word and PowerPoint. With a Copilot Pro subscription, users can create images and designs directly in their workflow, including creating banners for documents.

Additionally, Designer is now available as a free mobile app with AI-powered features for creative image creation, word-based design, and image editing on iOS and Android.

Microsoft is introducing Designer’s generative AI editing capabilities to Microsoft Photos, allowing users to edit photos without leaving the app, and similar features will be added to Microsoft Edge in the future.

Here are some of the features

  • New prompt templates are being introduced to help users jumpstart their creative process, pre-populated with ideas, styles, and descriptions. These templates can be shared with friends or fellow creators, sparking inspiration across the creative community.  
  • Designers can create custom stickers, emojis, clip art, wallpapers, monograms, avatars, and more, starting with a simple description, to help users stand out on messaging apps and social media.
  • Create personalized greeting cards and invitations for various occasions by describing your desired message, whether it’s birthdays, holidays, or graduation
  • Restyle image allows users to transform any photo into a unique work of art by uploading an image, selecting from a range of styles, and adding desired details. 
  • Customize your photos with Frame images, upload and describe images, or create collages with multiple images, selecting styles and adding descriptions for personalized memories.

Microsoft is continuously improving and enhancing the app to help boost your creativity, and we’re launching a preview of the Replace background in select markets, eagerly awaiting your feedback.

  • AI can expertly replace the background of still-life photos by uploading the photo and specifying the desired image, enhancing craft and hobby projects.

Moreover, Microsoft Designer offers 15 free daily boosts for faster AI-powered image and design creation and editing, with an additional 100 daily boosts available with a Copilot Pro subscription.
