Wizards of the Coast has announced the release of their latest Magic: The Gathering set, Bloomburrow, a captivating foray into a fantastical woodland plane populated entirely by non-human creatures. This pioneering expansion invites players to discover the bravery and power residing within the tiniest of heroes.

Set in the idyllic Valley, Bloomburrow follows the adventures of a diverse cast of courageous creatures as they band together to defend their peaceful realm from the looming threat of the Calamity Beasts. Joining the brave mouse Mabel are her stalwart companions: Gev the lizard, Hugs the badger, Finneas the rabbit, Zoraline the bat, and the otter planeswalker Ral Zarek. These diminutive yet mighty champions employ a range of new and returning gameplay mechanics to overcome the challenges they face.
The Bloomburrow expansion sees the debut of several innovative mechanics that allow players to tailor their strategies to the situation at hand. “Offspring” enables the creation of token copies of creature cards, while “Gift” grants advantages to the player in exchange for a promised boon to their opponent. “Forage” allows players to exile cards from their graveyard or sacrifice resources to trigger beneficial effects, and “Valiant” bestows bonus abilities to creatures that are targeted. Additionally, “Expend” tracks the amount of mana spent in a turn, unlocking powerful bonuses, and “Modal Spells” offer a choice of three distinct effects that can be combined in various ways.
Collectability remains a hallmark of the Bloomburrow set, with 24 “Imagine: Courageous Critters” Planeswalker cards featuring beloved characters such as Jace, Liliana, and Nissa in diminutive form. The set also showcases the artistry of renowned illustrators Mitsuhiro Arita and David Peterson, whose captivating depictions of the woodland denizens and environments capture the essence of this enchanting plane.
To celebrate the release of Bloomburrow, Wizards of the Coast (SEA) has announced “Play Season,” a regional engagement initiative for players in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Until October 31, players can visit their local Wizards Play Network (WPN) stores and participate in designated activities to earn unique collectibles and embark on “Mabel’s Journey,” a thrilling adventure alongside the set’s brave mouse protagonist.
The Bloomburrow set will be available in a variety of product formats, including Play Boosters, Collector Boosters, Commander Decks, Prerelease Packs, Bundles, and a Starter Set, catering to the diverse needs and preferences of the Magic playerbase.
