Xiaomi TV A Pro 43-inch

15 years ago, my wife and I bought our very first 32″ inch TV. It was one of our first major purchases as a couple. Back then, the 32-inch LED TV that we bought was among the best ones. We spent PhP32,000 for that TV, and thus considered as a “major” purchase by our standards.

15 years later, PhP32,000 can already let a household buy a 65-inch QLED TV, thanks to the new products launched by Xiaomi Philippines. In this article, we are reviewing one of these products – the Xiaomi TV A Pro 43″ (2025).

Build and Design

The Xiaomi TV A Pro 43″ 2025 boasts a sleek and modern aesthetic that immediately catches the eye. Its premium metal frame and bezel-less design make it a stylish addition to any living space. The TV’s ultra-slim profile contributes to its contemporary look, allowing it to blend seamlessly with various interior styles.

The double stand provides stable support, though it’s worth noting that the TV is also compatible with wall mounting (200 x 100mm), offering flexibility in placement. The verdigris color adds a touch of sophistication, setting it apart from the typical black TVs on the market.

One minor inconvenience is that no batteries are included in the box for the remote control. Additionally, the remote won’t work straight out of the box and requires pairing with the TV, which might catch some users off guard.

Display Quality

The Xiaomi TV A Pro 43″ 2025 features a 43-inch 4K UHD QLED display that delivers impressive visual performance. With a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, it offers crisp and detailed images that bring content to life. The QLED technology enhances color reproduction, resulting in vibrant and accurate hues.

Our display benchmark tests confirm that the TV’s performance almost closely aligns with Xiaomi’s advertised claims especially on the DCI-P3 color gamut, which is 88% from the 92% advertised claim. The color gamut coverage of DCI-P3 92% (minimum) to 94% (typical) ensures a wide range of colors, contributing to a more immersive viewing experience. While our result is off by 4%, it still shows a remarkable score by our standard.

The 60Hz refresh rate, while standard for most TVs, provides smooth motion for general content viewing. However, hardcore gamers might prefer higher refresh rates for more fluid gameplay.

Hardware

Under the hood, the Xiaomi TV A Pro 43″ 2025 is powered by a Quad A55 CPU and Mali G52 MC1 GPU. This combination provides adequate processing power for most smart TV functions and casual gaming. However, the 2GB of RAM, while sufficient for running TV applications, may not be ideal for more demanding tasks or seamless multitasking.

During our testing, we noticed minor instances of performance lags when switching between apps, likely due to the RAM limitations. This suggests that while the TV performs well for general use, it may not be the most nimble setup for those planning to use it extensively for gaming or running multiple apps simultaneously.

The 8GB of storage is standard for smart TVs, providing enough space for essential apps and some media files.

Software Features

The Xiaomi TV A Pro 43″ 2025 runs on the Google TV platform, offering a user-friendly interface and access to a vast array of content and applications. The setup process is notably swift and easy, though it does require the use of the Google Home app, which might be an extra step for some users.

Key software features include:

  • Google Assistant built-in for voice control and smart home integration
  • Access to Google Play Store for additional apps and games
  • Chromecast built-in and Miracast support for easy content sharing from mobile devices
  • Pre-installed popular streaming apps like Netflix, Prime Video, and YouTube

The smart home control hub functionality is a standout feature, allowing users to manage connected AIoT devices seamlessly through the TV.

Audio

Audio performance on the Xiaomi TV A Pro 43″ 2025 is delivered through a pair of 8W speakers. While not the most powerful in terms of wattage, they benefit from support for Dolby Audio™, DTS-X, and DTS Virtual:X technologies. These audio enhancements help to create a more immersive soundstage, improving the overall listening experience.

The audio quality is suitable for everyday TV viewing, providing clear dialogue and decent background sounds. However, for a truly cinematic experience or room-filling audio, users might want to consider pairing the TV with a soundbar or external audio system.

I/O (Input/Output)

The Xiaomi TV A Pro 43″ 2025 offers a comprehensive set of connectivity options:

  • Composite In (AV) for legacy devices
  • Optical audio output for connecting to external audio systems

Wireless connectivity includes dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz/5GHz) and Bluetooth 5.0, ensuring stable connections for streaming and peripheral devices.

The TV also supports various broadcasting systems, including DVB-T2/C and DVB-S2, making it versatile for different regions and cable setups.

Verdict

The Xiaomi TV A Pro 43″ 2025 presents an impressive package, especially considering its surprisingly low price point. It offers a high-quality 4K QLED display, a sleek design, and a robust set of smart features that make it an attractive option for many consumers.

The display quality is a standout feature, delivering vibrant colors and sharp images that enhance the viewing experience across various content types. The integration of Google TV provides a user-friendly interface and access to a wide range of streaming services and apps.

However, the TV does have some limitations. The 2GB of RAM, while adequate for basic smart TV functions, may lead to occasional performance hiccups when multitasking or running more demanding applications. This might be a consideration for users who plan to use the TV extensively for gaming or as a smart home hub.

The audio quality, while enhanced by various technologies, may not satisfy audiophiles or those seeking a truly immersive sound experience without additional equipment.

Despite these very minor drawbacks, the Xiaomi TV A Pro 43″ 2025 offers exceptional value for its price. Its combination of a quality display, smart features, and attractive design make it an excellent choice for those looking to upgrade their home entertainment setup without breaking the bank. The affordable pricing strategy also helps in making large-screen TVs more accessible to a broader range of Filipino consumers.

Is this a good buy? While it may not be the most powerful or feature-packed TV on the market, the Xiaomi TV A Pro 43″ 2025 strikes an impressive balance between performance, features, and affordability. It’s a solid choice for anyone seeking a quality 4K smart TV experience without a premium price tag.
