The iPhone 16 has just been unveiled alongside its price. The prices shown are now being discussed across social media platforms because of the conversion rates and how high the prices are.
According to the most recent edition of the iPhone Index by research firm Picodi.com, an average Filipino must work for 68.8 days to afford the latest iPhone 16 Pro. The index is an annual comparison of iPhone prices vs salary ratios.
How much work for an iPhone 16?
Data showed that the country ranks as the second-worst place to afford the latest iPhone, trailing only Türkiye’s 72.9 days to acquire the base model priced at PHP 69,990. This is more than three times the national average net monthly wage of PHP 21,378.61.
Just a reminder though, the goal of this infographic is not to show how difficult it is for an average Filipino to afford an iPhone, but rather the quality of life we have in comparison to other countries in regards to our monthly salary.
