TCL has unveiled two new smartphones, 50 NxtPaper and 50 Pro NxtPaper, featuring NextPaper display technology to alleviate eye strain.
TCL 50 and 50 Pro NxtPaper
The 50 and 50 Pro smartphones share a 6.8-inch NxtPaper display with Full HD+ resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate. The selfie camera has an 8 MP sensor on the Vanilla and 32 MP on the 50 Pro,
Moreover, they share the same rear camera setup featuring a 108MP main lens, 8MP Ultrawide, and a 2MP macro shooter. The 50 and 50 Pro have 256GB and 512GB storage, 8GB RAM, MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 chipsets, and Android 14, and TCL promises two years of OS upgrades and EU support.
The manufacturer has introduced NxtPaper technology, transforming the screen into paper-like without reflections. The phone features a button to switch between Normal, Color Paper, and Max Ink modes with the latter allowing up to 7 days of reading or 26 days of standby.
It supports up to four apps and suspends the rest. Both phones have a 5,010 mAh battery, with the Pro having an adapter. The 50 and 50 Pro can use a designated flip case and T-Pen stylus.
TCL introduces 50 NxtPaper 5G and 50 Pro NxtPaper 5G in various colors – Gray, Blue, White, Pink, and Gold, available in the EU for EUR 229 (around PHP 14,000) and EUR 299 (around PHP 19,000) respectively.
