Primed to perform with AMD Ryzen 9000 Series processors

The AMD Ryzen 9000 Series desktop processors are a powerful choice for AI PCs, offering a 16% improvement in instructions-per-cycle (IPC) compared to previous generations. These processors are designed for gaming, creative endeavors, and professional pursuits, offering a potent blend of single-threaded and multi-threaded performance. They excel in any workload, from video exports to online esports games, ensuring users stay nimble while working and playing.

Socket AM5 takes a second lap around the track

AMD Ryzen 9000 Series CPUs can be upgraded with a BIOS update using an X670E motherboard. However, for new systems, the X870E or X870 motherboards are ideal due to their feature-rich, high-end options. The X870E chipset offers DDR5 support, PCIe 5.0 connectivity, two USB4 ports, and support for the latest CPU and memory overclocking refinements. These motherboards have more PCIe lanes, such as the Marvell® 10Gb Ethernet port on the ProArt X870E-Creator WiFi.

Take the lead with smart controls

ASUS AI PCs provide users with easy-to-optimize system performance options, including AMD Ryzen 9000 Series CPU, fan noise reduction, seamless PC connections, and network settings optimization.

    • AI Overclocking: For builders looking to easily optimize their CPU, ASUS offers AI Overclocking. Powered by exhaustive research and characterization of the performance potential of thousands of actual CPUs in our testing labs, this tool boosts CPU clocks with just one click. AI Overclocking’s sophisticated intelligence also monitors the efficiency of a CPU cooler and changes in the operating environment of a system to tune its parameters over time for the best performance with a system’s unique set of components.

    • Dynamic OC Switcher: For more advanced performance tweakers, ASUS offers Dynamic OC Switcher. This feature automatically flips between a built-in AMD Precision Boost Overdrive and a manual all-core overclock to give users the best performance for the task at hand.

    • Core Flex: Users can also leverage Core Flex to smash limits farther than ever before by controlling the clock, power, and thermals. In its simplest form, users can maximize the base clock during lighter loads and set breakpoints to gradually reduce CPU core frequency as temperature or current increases. The system is extremely adaptable, supporting multiple user-controlled functions that can manipulate power, current, and temperature limits independently so that users can bend CPU performance to their will.

    • AI Cooling II: Intelligent ASUS tech stands ready to optimize cooling, as well. AI Cooling II gives users an easy tool for getting effective airflow under load and quiet operation during light tasks, even for builders who opt for higher-RPM case fans. It uses CPU monitoring information and data from a brief stress test to calculate the lowest fan speed required to effectively cool a system — while minimizing noise levels. This fan control system can reduce system fan noise by up to 5.7 dB under sustained loads.

    • AI Networking II: Through AI Networking II, an AI PC can optimize network settings to ensure smooth online gameplay, uninterrupted creativity, and seamless sharing. Integrated into the Armoury Crate app, AI Networking II uses AI-enhanced identification and boost technology to ensure faster and smarter network optimization. The new Traffic Monitor feature tracks current WiFi channel usage and makes it easy to switch to a less-congested channel.

Users can access features on ROG, TUF Gaming, ProArt X870E, X870 motherboards, and Prime X870-P WiFi, including AI Cooling II and AI Networking II.

Taking DDR5 to the next level

AI workflows require large and fast memory pools and ASUS’ X870E and X870 motherboards offer the necessary performance for AI PCs. ASUS introduces NitroPath DRAM Technology in two X870E motherboards, offering enhanced durability and noise reduction. This design ensures faster data transfers between DRAM and CPU, maximizing system performance. All ASUS X870E and X870 motherboards provide access to AEMP profiles, allowing users to tune memory above baseline settings while maintaining stable system operation. AMD introduces official JEDEC support for DDR5-5600, providing speed boosts for those needing exceptional stability. Real-time memory overclocking is also available within the Ryzen Master app, and Memory Optimized Performance Profile (MOPP) allows automatic switching between JEDEC and EXPO memory profiles based on the application running.

A full lineup of WiFi 7-ready options

WiFi 7 is a significant advancement in wireless networking technology, offering up to 4.8 times faster speeds compared to WiFi 6. It features 320 MHz channels on the 6 GHz band and 4K QAM, allowing devices to connect simultaneously on multiple bands for increased reliability. To set up a desktop PC for WiFi 7 support, users need a WiFi 7 router and motherboard. The top-of-the-line ROG Crosshair X870E Hero offers link speeds up to 6.5 Gbps with MLO, 4K QAM, and access to 320 MHz channels.

For more modest wireless networking needs, the ROG Strix X870-A Gaming WiFi, TUF Gaming X870-Plus WiFi, or ASUS Prime X870-P WiFi provide more networking options. All ASUS X870E and X870 motherboards with WiFi 7 support include the ASUS-exclusive software feature of WiFi Q-Antenna, which delivers exceptional signal throughput for the 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands. The Armoury Crate features Direction Finder, Fast Check, and Traffic Monitor, allowing users to track WiFi channel utilization across 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands, and use Channel Switch for improved network performance.

Next-gen connectivity with USB4

The X870 / X870E motherboard comes with onboard USB4 ports, providing up to 40 Gbps of bi-directional bandwidth for fast connections to external storage drives. These ports can connect displays with a resolution of 8K @ 30 Hz or multiple devices via daisy-chaining, ensuring a neater setup with a single cable.

Easy PC DIY made easier

The X870E and X870 motherboards have made building a PC more straightforward than many think. The BIOS interface has been updated to 1920 x 1080 resolution, allowing users to easily view available settings. The BIOS Q-Dashboard interface is also introduced to bridge the gap between BIOS settings and the physical layout of the new motherboards. This provides a bird’s-eye view of the user’s exact motherboard model, with vital components and connections labeled, helping newer PC builders become familiar with their new hardware and motherboard functionality.
