OPPO has just announced ColorOS 15, the latest iteration of its OS based on Android 15 at the OPPO Developer Conference 2024 in China.

ColorOS 15 comes with new icons, lighting effects, natural light and shadow elements across the UI. It brings the Aurora engine for system-level rendering and hardware architecture and a Tidal engine for chip-level performance upgrades. The two work hand-in-hand to offer more responsive and lag-free animations when switching between your apps quickly.

The Android 15-based OS also utilizes the evolution of AI for a better experience. It also introduces the company’s take on Circle to Search and the integration of the XiaoBu Assistant. The latter is an AI assistant that can summarize information on your screen and have natural conversations.

Other AI features include AI Eraser, AI Photo Enhancement, AI Voice Summary, AI Document Management, AI Notes, AI Help Writing, and more.

The Android 15-based version of ColorOS is said to be lighter compared to the previous versions. It is said to deliver 18% better app responsiveness and 26% faster app installation process.

Moreover, the new ColorOS variant has a system-level dynamic cache allocation that manages your resources in real-time. OPPO also separated the notification panel and control center.

ColorOS 15 will come pre-installed in the upcoming OPPO Find X8 series and OnePlus 13 in China. The rollout will begin in November 2024 with the the OPPO Find X7 series, the Find N3 Flip, and OnePlus 12. The last devices in the release schedule are the OPPO Reno9 Pro 5G and Reno9 5G as well as the Reno8 Pro+.
