OnePlus is expected to launch the OnePlus 13 in China sometime this month. However, ahead of the launch, OnePlus employee Cai Zuxuan shared that the upcoming flagship device will have a custom variant of the Snapdragon 8 Elite (or the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4).
OnePlus 13 – Custom Snapdragon Chipset
The employee didn’t quite reveal what a ‘custom variant’ would entail but if it’s anything like the chipsets used for the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S24, we could see an overclocked version of the Qualcomm flagship SoC.
What was mentioned though was that the mid-specced OnePlus 13 will go for more than CNY 5,200 (around PHP 42,200), this is up from its predecessor which was offered at CNY 4,799 (around PHP 39,000).
Leakster Digital Chat Station though previously stated that the Snapdragon 8 Elite smartphones will be more expensive that the current flagships.
As of writing this, not much else is known about the OnePlus 13 aside from the 2K BOE X2 micro-curved display with thin bezels. Rumors mention that the device will have a triple rear camera setup with a 3x telephoto camera and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
The launch date has yet to be announced but we expect to hear more especially after the Snapdragon Summit happening this month.
Ram found his love and appreciation for writing in 2015 having started in the gaming and esports sphere for GG Network. He would then transition to focus more on the world of tech which has also began his journey into learning more about this world. That said though, he still has the mentality of "as long as it works" for his personal gadgets.
