Qualcomm‘s next-generation flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, is set to be released later this month. However, a recent leak has revealed its design and features. This is the most significant leak since August, and it offers a detailed look at the chip’s architecture and capabilities.
The leak comes from a user on Baidu who shared a block diagram and spec sheet of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 – Comes in Two Variants?
The Gen 4 will come in two versions – a regular version and a performance version. The performance version will be slightly faster, but the main difference between them is in how they connect to cellular networks.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 leaked specs
• Standard SM8750 supports mmWave and sub-6GHz 5G while the SM8750P only supports Wi-Fi.
• Both versions use LPDDR5X RAM standard, with potential LPDDR6 RAM support for future iterations.
• Storage standard is UFS 4.0, allowing read and write speeds of up to 4,500MB/s and 4,000MB/s.
• Adreno 830 GPU powers display with resolutions exceeding 4K at a smooth 144Hz refresh rate.
The Gen 4’s core functionalities have not significantly changed compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, but Qualcomm’s custom Oryon CPU cores are a standout feature, enhancing performance in both single-core and multi-core applications, indicating the potential for smartphone manufacturers to capitalize on this capability.
