Huawei is expected to introduce the HUAWEI Mate 70 series, its second flagship series, as early as this month. Ahead of any official mention, details of the upcoming device and its expected chipset – the Kirin 9100 were leaked.
HUAWEI Mate 70 and Kirin 9100 Details
Leakster Tech Home on Twitter/X revealed that the Mate 70 will feature a 6.7-inch 1.5K flat OLED panel and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The leakster also shared a render of the device which features a circular camera module around the back. This is said to house a 50MP main camera with variable aperture and OIS and a 12MP 5x periscope telephoto.
The device is expected to arrive being powered by the Kirin 9100 chipset. Tech Home shared that the new chipset will be built on the SMIC 6nm node. Moreover, the leakster shared that it will have a core set up that is comprised of:
- 1 x Cortex-X1 Prime performance core clocked up to 2.67GHz
- 3 x Cortex-A78 performance-efficiency cores clocked up to 2.32GHz
- 4 x Cortex-A55 efficiency cores running at up to 2.02GHz
The chipset is also equipped with a Maleoon 910 GPU. If details on the Kirin 9100 are true, it is still behind other flagship SoCs in the market today like the Snapdragon 8 Elite, MediaTek Dimensity 9400, and the Apple A18 and A18 Pro chip.
Huawei has yet to officially announce when the HUAWEI Mate 70 series will debut but we look forward to seeing what the company will bring with its next Mate series devices.
