Huawei recently transformed Bonifacio Global City’s 5th Avenue into an innovative technology showcase during its “Tech with Love” pop-up event held on November 9-10, 2024. The two-day event attracted over 20,000 visitors who experienced the company’s latest smart devices amid a vibrant display of 3D Pet Panda installations.
The event highlighted several of Huawei’s newest offerings, including the WATCH GT 5 Series, WATCH D2, and MatePad Pro 12.2″. Filipino celebrities Sofia Andres and Jericho Rosales were also present to share their experiences with the WATCH GT 5 Series.
Advanced Health and Fitness Features
The HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 Series makes use of its TruSense System to deliver comprehensive health tracking capabilities including heart rate, blood oxygen, and respiratory rate monitoring. There’s even an Emotional Wellbeing Assistant, complete with a Pet Panda companion that helps users maintain their mental wellness throughout their day.
Sofia Andres praised the device’s versatility, stating, “I absolutely love how the HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 Pro keeps me connected. I can take calls or reply to messages, while also monitoring my health and tracking my workouts.”
Revolutionary Payment Integration
In a significant development, Huawei announced the integration of WATCH Pay, making it the Philippines’ first smartwatch with GCash QR code payment capabilities. This feature is being rolled out across multiple Huawei smartwatch models, with full implementation expected by November 15 for Android users and December 15 for iOS users.
Medical-Grade Health Monitoring
The event also showcased the WATCH D2, Huawei’s first smartwatch featuring ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM). The device utilizes a mechanical airbag system to provide 24-hour blood pressure monitoring, offering users comprehensive Health Glance reports covering nine vital health indicators.
Creative Technology Solutions
The MatePad Pro 12.2″ demonstrated Huawei’s commitment to productivity and creativity, featuring a dual OLED PaperMatte display.
During the event, visitors explored its capabilities at the “Go Paint Your Imagination” station and used the GoPaint app for digital artwork creation.
Actor Jericho Rosales emphasized the WATCH GT 5 Pro’s versatility, noting, “The watch is beneficial for both road and trail runners, with its Running Form Analysis feature optimizing running technique and preventing injury.”
The event also promoted the GoPaint Worldwide Creating Activity 2024, inviting Filipino artists to submit entries under the theme “Creative by Nature” until December 31, with winners receiving cash prizes and exhibition opportunities.
