Nintendo has just confirmed that the Nintendo Switch 2 will support backward compatibility after it was previously revealed to arrive within the fiscal year.

The announcement was made on the official Twitter/X account, revealing that it was also included in a corporate briefing. Moreover, it was shared that Nintendo Switch Online will be available for the Nintendo Switch 2.
This is good news for Switch players as it means that you can enjoy your current games on the next-generation Nintendo console.
That said though, Nintendo didn’t reveal anything else about this feature like how it will work or the next Switch. We expect to learn more officially when the company is ready to introduce its next-generation console.
