Samsung has just introduced Samsung Gauss2, its second-generation Generative AI model, at the Samsung Developer Conference held in South Korea. It is said to offer improved performance and efficiency for Galaxy AI features.
Samsung Gauss2 GenAI Model
Samsung Gauss2 is as second-generation Gen AI model that brings better performance and efficiency. According to the company, when compared to Gauss, the second-generation model is 1.5x to 3x faster.
It is multimodal, meaning it can take multiple data types for input including code, images, and language. The new model is also said to support 9 to 14 languages and various coding languages.
The company has revealed that the model will be used in its different products including smartphones, tablets, laptops, and home appliances.
It is said to offer faster and improved quality for Galaxy AI features like Browsing Assist, Call Assist, Chat Assist, Generative AI Edit, Interpreter, Note Assist, Sketch to image and more.
Moreover, Samsung Gauss2 comes in three forms – Compact, Balanced, and Supreme. These are as follows:
- Compact – smaller, faster, more efficient, and can run on-device without the need for an internet connection
- Balanced – a consistent experience by balancing efficiency, performance, and speed
- Supreme – Uses the Mixture of Experts technology and selects the most suitable expert model and activates it for a specific task
Samsung revealed that its developers and business units are already using Samsung Gauss2. This includes 60% of developers in the DX division and call center employees.
