Google is bolstering security for Pixel phone users with the rollout of an Identity Check feature. This added layer of protection aims to safeguard sensitive account actions and prevent unauthorized access.
Google Identity Check Feature
Identity Check kicks in when users attempt to perform sensitive tasks, such as changing critical account settings, making purchases, or accessing stored passwords. It requires users to verify their identity before proceeding.
To confirm their identity, users can choose from various verification methods, including fingerprint scanning, facial recognition, or entering their PIN. This multi-factor authentication approach adds an extra hurdle for potential intruders, even if they manage to obtain a user’s password.

The Identity Check feature is currently being rolled out to Pixel phone users. Google plans to expand its availability to other Android devices in the future, bringing enhanced security to a wider user base.

With Identity Check, Google is taking proactive steps to protect users’ digital lives. This new feature adds an important layer of security against unauthorized access, helping to keep personal information and accounts safe. While initially available for Pixel users, the planned expansion to other Android devices promises to bring improved security to a broader audience hopefully soon.
