It looks like OPPO is set to make waves the smartphone industry with its upcoming flagship foldable, OPPO Find N5, slated for a February release. The device, which succeeds the 2023 Find N3, is being positioned to set a new standard in foldable smartphone design with its ultra-thin profile.

In a recent development, OPPO executive Pete Lau shared a teaser that highlights the device’s remarkably slim design. The company claims the Find N5 will be the thinnest flagship foldable smartphone on the market, challenging the current champion, the HONOR Magic V3, which measures 4.35mm. The OPPO Find N5 is said to be between 3.5 and 4mm thin, potentially establishing a new benchmark in the category.

Technical specifications revealed thus far indicate that the Find N5 will feature cutting-edge technology, including Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The device will sport a triple rear camera system, each with 50-megapixel sensors, promising exceptional photography capabilities.

In terms of longevity, the device is expected to pack a 5,900 mAh battery supporting 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging capabilities.

A notable engineering achievement is the implementation of a titanium alloy hinge, as confirmed by OPPO Find series product manager Zhou Yibao. This premium material choice suggests enhanced durability while maintaining the device’s ultra-thin profile.

For global markets, reports indicate the device may be marketed as the OnePlus Open 2, following OPPO’s established international branding strategy. We’re also hoping that they finally bring it to the Philippines, as they did not do so with the Find N3.
