Xiaomi chairman and CEO Lei Jun shared the first official camera sample of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra on Weibo ahead of the device’s launch by the end of the month.

The post includes the watermark of the device which reveals that it was taken by the 100m periscope telephoto lens of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra rather than the main camera.
The device’s periscope telephoto lens is expected to be a 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP9 periscope camera. The sensor is a 1/1.4-inch lens and uses 4×4 pixel binning technology to enhance low-light photography with better details and sharper shots in dark environments. It is also said to support 4.3x optical zoom and 100x AI-enhanced digital zoom.
Lei Jun mentioned that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will bring ‘groundbreaking advancements in night photography’ and this camera sample may just prove that it will do so with the periscope telephoto snapper.
Rumored Specifications
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is believed to have a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, a 2K micro-curved display, and support for satellite communication.
Moreover, the camera setup, as per reports, will include a 50MP Sony LYT-900 main camera, a 50MP Samsung JN5 ultra lens, and a 50MP Sony IMX858 camera along with the previously mentioned periscope telephoto snapper.
It is also expected to boast a 6000mAh battery with 90W wired and 50W wireless charging support.
Xiaomi has yet to officially announce the launch date of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra but it is expected to arrive later this month.
