Gemini 2.5 models have enhanced reasoning capabilities, allowing them to analyze information, draw logical conclusions, incorporate context, and make informed decisions before responding. This “thinking” capability is a significant advancement, building upon previous models like Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking. Google plans to integrate these thinking capabilities into all future models.

Gemini 2.5 Pro excels in complex tasks, demonstrating strong reasoning and coding abilities, ranking first in coding, math, and science benchmarks. It received an 18.8% score on Humanity’s Last Exam.
The model also shows significant improvements in coding performance, capable of creating visually compelling web apps and agentic code applications. On SWE-Bench Verified, it scored 63.8% with a custom agent setup.

Gemini 2.5 Pro is now available in Google AI Studio and the Gemini app for Gemini Advanced users, with Vertex AI coming soon. It has a 1 million token context window, with intentions to increase it to 2 million tokens. This enables the model to understand large datasets from multiple sources, such as text, audio, photos, video, and code repositories.
