Qualcomm‘s upcoming Snapdragon 8s Elite chipset is generating significant buzz, with leaks indicating a powerful contender in the upper mid-range smartphone market. This new chipset aims to provide a balance of performance and efficiency, bridging the gap between Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen series and its more budget-friendly options.
Snapdragon 8s Elite Coming Soon?
Early benchmarks, including those appearing on Geekbench, reveal the chipset’s architecture, featuring a mix of high-performance and efficiency cores. It is expected to perform in a space between the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

Reports indicate the 8s Elite will feature an octa-core CPU configuration, a Cortex-X4 core clocked at 3.21GHz, three performance Cortex-A720 cores clocked at 3.01GHz, two efficiency Cortex-A720 cores clocked at 2.80GHz, and two additional efficiency cores clocked at 2.02GHz.The chipset also incorporates an Adreno 825 GPU, promising solid graphics performance.
The upper mid-range chipset may be introduced in smartphones in April 2025. It is expected to be used by iQOO, Redmi, POCO, Xiaomi, and Motorola, and will feature high refresh rate displays and advanced camera systems. The chipset is expected to be competitively priced.
