It seems that Google has begun rolling out the integration of Google Photos to some Gemini app users, allowing you to find images and videos from your Google Photos library via the Google AI assistant.
Google Photos – Gemini App
Google showcased the Google Photos integration at Google I/O 2024, and the rollout has begun for users in the US.

You’ll need to enable Google Photos on the Gemini app on Android to use this feature. You can do this by:
- Open the Gemini app
- Tap your profile in the upper right corner
- Tap Apps
- Scroll down to Media
- Toggle Google Photos
This will let you use Gemini to search your images and videos in your Google Photos library. Queries can include:
- Date
- Time
- Description
- Location
- People
Moreover, you can also ask the Google AI assistant for details found in your images, like:
- Passport number
- The theme of someone’s last party
- The hotel you stayed in during your last trip
- The food you ate during a trip

After giving your query, the AI assistant will then fetch memories from your Google Photos library, which you can then tap the image or album and open them on the Google Photos app.
Currently, the integration is being rolled out to select users in the US, but it could be offered globally in the coming weeks.
