Google has launched Google Vertex AI Media Studio, a new suite of generative AI tools that enables users to create professional videos from text prompts. Built on Google Cloud’s Vertex AI, the platform integrates advanced models for visuals, voice, and music and requires no video editing or coding experience.

Users begin by generating an image with Imagen 3, which can then be transformed into a video using Veo 2. Veo 2 offers customization options for camera movement (drone, panning), frame rate, and video length. A Magic Eraser-like feature allows the removal of unwanted elements.

For audio, Media Studio employs Chirp for voiceovers and Lyria, developed by Google DeepMind and YouTube, for background music. The result is a complete, ready-to-share video with a professional look and sound, all generated within the Vertex AI Studio, the same console used for testing Gemini models.
Google Vertex AI provides access to Google’s Gemini models, which are capable of processing text, images, and code for varied outputs. The Vertex AI Studio serves as a prototyping environment for users to experiment with prompts and fine-tune AI models.
While these tools streamline content creation, they also raise questions about authenticity, human creativity, and responsible AI use. However, Google believes that users, especially those without editing skills, will embrace this simple way to generate polished videos with ease. Vertex AI Media Studio aims to democratize video creation through generative AI.
