TNT Tropang 5G

TNT Tropang Giga marks championship, 25th year anniversary with new name Tropang 5G.

As a perennial finals contender, TNT Tropang 5G has demonstrated exceptional skill, especially in the recent seven-game, overtime championship-clinching victory at the PBA Season 49 Commissioner’s Cup Finals. This success reflects the team’s strong connection, which also resonates with millions of fans across the country. With 11 PBA titles under their belt, TNT Tropang 5G has been bringing joy to millions of Filipinos for over two and a half decades.

Jayson Castro, two-time Asia’s Best Pointguard, expressed his gratitude towards the fans, stating, “Sobrang saya na maging part ako ng milestone na ito ng TNT. The fans have been with us through the years, from the ups and downs. Lahat ng naa-achieve namin as a team, as an organization, lahat ng panalo namin – we dedicate talaga to the fans, sa mga KaTropa natin na tinuturing na rin naming second family namin.”

Calvin Oftana, TNT Tropang 5G’s power forward, also shared his appreciation for the team’s history, noting, “I feel blessed na mapabilang sa TNT kasi makulay ang history ng team. From the time nina Kuya Asi and Kuya Jimmy during the Mobiline/Talk ‘n Text Phone Pals from the early 2000s, nasubaybayan ko talaga kung paano sinundan ng PBA fans ‘yung team through the years. Salamat talaga nang marami kasi andiyan palagi ang mga KaTropa para sumuporta sa amin.”

Recently crowned Finals MVP Rey Nambatac highlighted the team’s resilience, saying, “It has been a tough series for us lalo na yung last one na umabot ng seven games tapos overtime pa. Pero gaya ng lahat ng KaTropa na sumusuporta sa amin, lumalaban para sa araw-araw na saya ang buong team.”

The team’s Bisdak connection, which includes players from Cagayan de Oro and Cebu, has been celebrated online. This cultural bond has also contributed to the team’s success, with players often communicating in Bisaya during games. Even Best Import awardee Rondae Hollis-Jefferson has adopted this, referring to his teammates as Dong and claiming to know some Bisaya phrases.

TNT’s Outlook for 2025

TNT, with nearly 35 million subscribers and counting, still continues to dominate the telecommunications sector. The brand is committed to enhancing its mobile network, offering more affordable data packages, and providing exciting experiences for its subscribers. Kelly Williams, TNT forward and former PBA MVP, noted the importance of TNT in his pre-game routines, using it to stay updated and connected with family and supporters.

This year, TNT plans to expand its 5G coverage by rolling out more cell sites across the country, ensuring a superior mobile experience for its subscribers.
