vivo Product Manager Han Boxiao has recently confirmed that the vivo X200 Ultra will feature an external accessory to improve its photography capabilities in addition to its triple camera setup.
vivo X200 Ultra – Detachable Telephoto Lens
The camera was first teased by vivo’s Product Vice President, Huang Tao, but Han Boxiao posted photos of the accessory on Weibo.
The fourth camera is a standalone external telephoto lens developed in collaboration with ZEISS. This is a 200MP sensor with a 200mm focal length and an aperture of f/2.3. It offers up to a whopping 8.7x optical zoom.

The lens is confirmed to have a 3-group, 13-element Kepler-style construction. It has high-transmittance glass elements for maximum clarity and precision. The external telephoto lens supports RMSC technology that enables a second zoom stage for an 800mm equivalent or 35x zoom and up to 1600mm or 70x digital zoom.
The lens is joined by 50MP Sony LYT-818 main, 50MP Sony LYT-818 ultrawide, and 200MP Samsung HP9 periscope telephoto (85mm) cameras.
Moreover, vivo’s VS1 and V3+ imaging chips assist in both pre- and post-processing to deliver a DSLR-like output.
The vivo X200 Ultra also features an Action Button, which can be used as a physical camera button.

The 200mm telephoto lens, though, doesn’t come with the base version of the X200 Ultra. Instead, it will be included with the Photography Kit, which connects to the device via USB-C. The kit also comes with a 2300mAh battery, a specialized case with a kickstand, a shoulder strap, and a dedicated video recording button.
The vivo X200 Ultra will launch in China on April 21 alongside other devices that include the vivo X200s, and the Ultra definitely looks to live up to its Ultra moniker.
