Apple has made the foldable iPhone official: the iPhone Duo, unveiled today at the company’s September event, opens into the largest display ever on an iPhone while folding down to a pocketable size. The reveal ends a long guessing game that had case makers like dbrand teasing “iPhone Ultra” cases ahead of launch.

“iPhone Duo is the most transformational change to iPhone since the original. With an entirely new design and intuitive experiences, it shows what’s possible when hardware and software are engineered together and redefines what it means to use a foldable phone,” said John Ternus, Apple’s CEO.
Two displays, one iPhone
Opened, the iPhone Duo is the thinnest iPhone ever, with a 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR inner display that is 50 percent larger than the iPhone 18 Pro Max screen. A premium nano-texture finish cuts glare and reflections while minimizing crease visibility, and a hidden FaceTime camera stays out of sight until needed. Closed, the 5.4-inch outer display delivers 90 percent of the iPhone 18 Pro’s screen area in a body similar in size to a passport. Both displays share the same aspect ratio, so content scales proportionally between them.

Both panels bring ProMotion and Always On.
Built to fold, built to last
The iPhone Duo is crafted from grade 5 titanium with a mirror-polished finish, available in star white and night sky. Its precision hinge is engineered from more than 100 components, holding the display flat when open and closing with a secure magnetic feel. Ceramic Shield protects the back and Ceramic Shield 2 fronts the outer display with 3x better scratch resistance, and the whole device carries an IP68 rating for splash, water, and dust resistance.
Inside, the A20 Pro pairs with a custom-designed vapor chamber and a dual-battery architecture for pro-level performance. Battery life reaches up to 31 hours of video playback on the inner display, up to 44 hours on the outer display, and up to 24 hours of mixed use, with fast charging that tops up 50 percent in around 20 minutes.
A camera that uses the fold
The advanced camera system includes a 48MP Fusion Main camera with an integrated optical-quality 2x Telephoto, a Fusion Ultra Wide camera, and Center Stage on the front-facing camera. The folding design unlocks new ways to shoot, including hands-free framing, and new Photographic Styles add texture and grain control.

iOS 27, reimagined
iOS 27 adapts to the foldable form with multitasking views across apps like Safari and the new Siri app, plus Apple Intelligence 2 and Siri AI built on personal context.
Pricing and availability
The iPhone Duo starts at $1,999 (US) in storage options from 256GB up to 2TB. Pre-orders open Friday, October 16 at 5 a.m. PT, with availability beginning Friday, October 23 in more than 70 countries and regions, and in 28 more from October 30. The iPhone Duo Case costs $79 and the Folio with Kickstand $129.
In the Philippines, Apple lists the iPhone Duo from PhP159,990, inclusive of taxes and duties, with free delivery for orders through the Apple online store. It will also arrive through authorized Apple resellers, with carrier and retail rollout details to be announced closer to launch.
