Xiaomi Vision GT is headed to Gran Turismo 7 this October. The concept car that Xiaomi Auto first showed as a design study will become a playable machine in the racing series.
The announcement came on stage at the Gran Turismo World Series 2026 Round 3 in Singapore.

Gran Turismo series producer Kazunori Yamauchi shared the stage with Jean-Arthur Madelaine, head of design at the Xiaomi Europe R&D and Design Center under Xiaomi Auto. The two discussed how the project moved from a vision exercise to a car that players can drive.
The same session introduced the first EV Driving Experience in Gran Turismo 7, a programme of dedicated driving challenges and training built around the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra and the Xiaomi Vision GT.
Xiaomi is the 36th brand in Vision Gran Turismo
Vision Gran Turismo began in 2013 as an invitation for manufacturers to imagine and create original concept cars exclusively for the Gran Turismo series, and the project has produced 50 models since. Over that decade it has brought together some of the world’s most renowned automotive marques and built a platform at the intersection of automotive design, engineering and virtual racing culture.

Xiaomi joins as the 36th brand and the first technology company to take part. That is a departure for a programme that has drawn almost entirely from established marques.
The Xiaomi Vision GT made its global debut at Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona, where Xiaomi Auto chief designer Li Tianyuan unveiled the car. The physical concept then appeared at Auto China 2026 in Beijing.
Its arrival in Gran Turismo 7 marks the next milestone in that journey, carrying the concept from a design vision to an interactive driving experience players around the world can sample.
Sculpted by the Wind, measured in a wind tunnel
The car is guided by a design philosophy Xiaomi calls Sculpted by the Wind, and the approach avoids deliberately sharpened surfaces or add-on aerodynamic elements in favour of a form shaped by airflow. It is built around a suspended, teardrop-like cabin, with every surface aerodynamically optimised and every structural element designed with an airfoil cross-section.
That means the body itself does much of the aerodynamic work.

Aerodynamic solutions proven on production cars such as the Xiaomi SU7 and Xiaomi YU7 carry over and go further here. Cross-shaped headlights double as airflow guides, and a halo-shaped taillight is integrated into the rear air channel.
Together with an active wake-control system, those choices produce an aerodynamic efficiency value of 4.1 and a drag coefficient of 0.29. Those figures matter in a racing game, where a shape has to hold up under a physics model as well as a studio light.
A Sofa Racer cockpit that reads the driver
Xiaomi also introduces a concept it calls Sofa Racer, centred on a cocoon-like cockpit that combines comfort, immersion and driver focus in a single cabin. The cockpit runs on the Xiaomi Hyper XiaoAi AI voice assistant and the Xiaomi MiMo foundation model.
Xiaomi says it can anticipate and respond to driver intent while connecting naturally to the company’s Human x Car x Home smart ecosystem.
The first EV Driving Experience in Gran Turismo 7
The EV Driving Experience gives players a new way to explore the distinct acceleration, braking and handling characteristics of high-performance electric vehicles inside the authentic environment the series is known for.

Madelaine described the Xiaomi Vision GT as a futuristic driver’s car that is sculpted by the wind and engineered to pursue the perfect balance between low drag and high downforce. He said it keeps both high speed and exceptional stability in the game.
What Yamauchi and Madelaine said
Yamauchi pointed to the reception the car has received since its appearances at MWC Barcelona and Auto China, and said the community’s anticipation of driving it in Gran Turismo 7 helped build momentum behind the collaboration.
On the design itself, he was direct. “The overall design maintains its simplicity while revealing an indescribably sleek and incredibly sexy curved aesthetic,” Yamauchi said.
“I believe this car will become a role model for this era.”
A wider push into global car culture
The two models now sit at different points in Xiaomi Auto’s push into car culture, with the production-grade Xiaomi SU7 Ultra already in the game and the concept joining the Vision Gran Turismo stable. Players will be able to drive the car on circuits including the Nürburgring, Le Mans and Suzuka, according to the announcement.
For Xiaomi, the move extends a brand built on smartphones and smart home hardware into a racing platform with a global audience. It also puts the company’s design language in front of players who may never see the physical concept car.
Gadget Pilipinas covered the Xiaomi Vision GT when Xiaomi revealed the electric supercar in March, and followed the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra as it raced into Gran Turismo 7 earlier this year. More on the series is available on the official Gran Turismo website.
