According to a report, Tencent is set to acquire Xiaomi’s BlackShark gaming division for approximately CNY 3 billion. This will enable Tencent to enter the gaming market with its own hardware if it pushes through.

It is said that the company has been striking deals with various smartphone manufacturers that may include ASUS ROG and nubia’s Red magic Series. But with BlackShark, this may enable the company to take its business abroad given Xiaomi’s division has already been present in these markets.

No information detailing this acquisition has been reported. But if this happens, Tencent will have its own hardware offers to gamers.
