Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon on Wednesday on Twitter denied the report regarding hackers breaching the Comelec servers.
Manila Bulletin (MB) last Monday, January 10, reported the alleged hacking that resulted in a data breach that involves sensitive information that could affect the coming 2022 elections if it were proven true and now has been disputed by Guanzon
“How can they hack our servers when we don’t have PINs yet? ITD [Information and Technology Department] Director told me we don’t have PINs yet,” Guanzon added.
Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez stated that he will come up with a final report this week regarding the allegation and warned that someone would need to be held accountable if the allegations are proven to be false.
