Since CES 2022, enthusiasts have been waiting for the release of the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, AMD’s first processor to feature AMD 3D V-Cache technology. The new caching technology improves gaming performance up to 15% more compared to processors without stacked cache technology. Alongside the new Ryzen 7 5800X3D are new Ryzen 7, 5, and 3 series processors and expanded chipset compatibility effectively increasing the AM4 platform’s shelf life.

The RYzen 3 4100, Ryzen 5 4500, Ryzen 5 4600G are Zen 2 refreshes of the previous Ryzen 3000 series CPUs while the Ryzen 5 5500, Ryzen 5 5600, and Ryzen 7 5700X are new Zen 3 CPUs that fill new price points in the market.
Extended AMD 300 Series Motherboard Support
AMD also announced it is extending support of Ryzen 5000 series processors on AMD 300 series chipsets which we’re not supported on its launch. The 300 series chipsets will also support the newly announced AMD Ryzen 5000 series processors. Do note that you need to upgrade the BIOS on your X370, B350 or A320 chipset motherboard should you pair it with a Ryzen 5000 series processors. BETA BIOSes will reportedly become available in April.
